Halal Cum Q/A Assistant

Job Summary:The Halal cum QA Assistant will support the Halal and Regulatory Affairs Assistant Manager and the Senior QC Executive in ensuring compliance with Halal certification, quality assurance standards, and local authority regulations. The role involves conducting audits, documentation, and certification processes while maintaining flexibility for additional responsibilities as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Halal Compliance:

  • Assist in managing all documentation and processes for Halal certification, including applications, renewals, and audits.
  • Assist the Halal & Regulatory Affairs Assistant Manager to manage the franchisees in their Halal application processes and monitoring as assigned.
  • Assist to ensure compliance with Halal standards across outlets, the Central Kitchen, and franchisees.
  • Stay updated on Halal regulatory requirements and provide guidance to the team.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct internal audits for outlets and the Central Kitchen as assigned.
  • Assist documentation for Quality Assurance and Halal Department as assigned.
  • Monitor quality assurance standards and suggest improvements to existing practices.
  • Assist in implementing corrective actions following audit findings.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure outlets comply with local authorities’ requirements.
  • Liaise with relevant regulatory bodies to address compliance matters as assigned.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Halal and Regulatory Affairs Assistant Manager and Senior QC Executive on daily operations.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits and inspections.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings to align on compliance and quality objectives.

Training and Development:

  • Assist in conducting internal training sessions for staff on Halal compliance and quality standards.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and share knowledge with the team.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the management.
  • Support business growth by ensuring high-quality standards in operations and compliance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Certification in the Certified Halal Executive Programme (CHEP) is required; additional certification in the Certified Halal Internal Auditing Programme (CHAP) is a strong advantage.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in Halal compliance, quality assurance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Halal certification processes, HACCP, and ISO standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel as required.
